Timothy J. Walsh:

An Experienced Real Estate Attorney, Injury Attorney and Business & Employment Attorney Serving Santa Cruz and Central Coast

Timothy J. Walsh is an experienced attorney who has practiced in the areas of real estate law, personal injury law and business law since 1984. Tim graduated cum laude from Holy Cross College in Worcester, Massachusetts, and was in the top 15 percent of his class at the University of Santa Clara Law School.   At law school, he was a finalist and won the Best Oral Advocate Award in the third year moot court competition.

 

After law school, Tim worked for the Santa Cruz County Superior Court as a research attorney.  When he left his position with the Court, he worked for an insurance defense firm in Santa Cruz County and later for a business firm in Monterey. 

 

Tim joined the Timan Law Firm in Watsonville in 1997 and became a partner at Timan & Walsh, LLP, in 2000.  In 2007, Tim founded the law firm of Walsh & Roach, LLP, in which he is the senior partner. Tim has devoted his practice to trial work since graduating from law school. He is an experienced personal injury attorney, real estate attorney, business litigation attorney, and employment attorney, serving clients in Santa Cruz and the Central Coast. He has represented numerous persons who have been injured in accidents as the result of the fault of another, including professional malpractice cases. He has represented neighbors in boundary and easement disputes, and buyers and sellers in contract and fraud disputes.  He has also represented growers in disputes with marketing agents.

 

Tim is a member of the State Bar of California and the Santa Cruz County Bar Association.  He is a member of the California Trial Lawyers Association and the Santa Cruz County Trial Lawyers Association.

 

Tim lives in Aptos with his wife, Betsy, who is a music teacher in the Carmel Unified School District.  He is active at Holy Eucharist Catholic Community in Corralitos where he has served on the parish council.  He is a member of the Hanuman Fellowship and has been practicing Ashtanga Yoga for over thirty years.  He also enjoys lap swimming for exercise and other water sports for entertainment, including scuba diving.

Valerie M. Roach, a graduate of Hastings College of the Law, has been a practicing attorney in the areas of personal injury and employment law since 1998.  She joined the Santa Cruz County law firm of Timan and Walsh, LLP, as an associate in 2004, and became a partner at Walsh & Roach, LLP, in 2007.

As an experienced personal injury lawyer serving clients in Santa Cruz, Watsonville, Salinas, Monterey and Hollister, Valerie assists people and the families of people who have been seriously injured or killed in accidents, including car accidents, truck accidents, dog bites, or slip and falls. In addition, Valerie practices in the areas of employment law, helping clients in Santa Cruz, Monterey and San Benito county to assert their rights in cases of wrongful termination, unpaid wages and overtime, discrimination and sexual harassment. She is also an experienced medical and dental malpractice lawyer.

Valerie is a member of the California Trial Lawyers Association, the Santa Cruz County Bar Association, and the Women Lawyers of Santa Cruz County.  She has served as a volunteer mediator and supervising attorney in the Monterey County Superior Court small claims department with the Mandell-Gisnet Center for Conflict Management at the Monterey Bay College of Law.

Valerie lives in North Monterey County with her husband, Bob.  In her spare time, she is active at First Congregational Church, Santa Cruz, and enjoys cross country skiing, yoga, and music. Valerie speaks Spanish and has lived and traveled extensively in Latin America.
